normative labels and electric volumes

safety rules around water points

The standards that must be respected for electrical devices in rooms containing water include various volumes from 0 to 3 in order to meet the requirements for protection against electrical shocks (class) and against the penetration of solids (IP2X) or liquids (IPX4).

volume 0: Prohibited use of any electrical device (hairdryer, razor, telephone, cellphone, etc.), except special cases class III IPX7 / TBTS

volume 1: Class III IP X4 lighting fixtures are authorised, as are very low voltage 12V switches.  No outlets are authorised.

volume 2: Class II IP X4 lighting fixtures are authorised, as are very low voltage 12V switches.  Only “razor” outlets are allowed, that must be equipped with an isolating transformer.

Volume 3: Only lamps in classes I, II or III IPX1 are authorised. Grounded double outlets are authorised
